Eye health for dogs, cats and rabbits

At A-Vet Smådyrklinikk we offer a wide range of eye treatments for your pets, performed by experienced veterinarians specializing in eye health. We offer eye examinations, eye surgery, gonioscopy for glaucoma screening, eye lighting for breeding animals, as well as treatment of glaucoma and other eye disorders. Our clinic has advanced equipment and expertise to diagnose and treat a variety of eye diseases in dogs, cats and rabbits.

We offer eye examinations for breeding animals registered with NKK and NOX, as well as for mixed breeds and unregistered dogs via the ECVO HED Platform. Our eye examiner is ESAVS-trained and performs specialized eye surgery such as blepharoplasty, cherry eye, ectropion and entropion. If hereditary eye diseases are suspected, we supplement eye examinations with DNA testing and gonioscopy for early detection of glaucoma.

During an eye examination, we assess all layers of the eye, tear production and the cornea with advanced equipment. In rabbits, we diagnose and treat, among other things, conjunctivitis, uveitis, corneal injuries, cataracts and E. cuniculi. In glaucoma, symptoms such as red eye, enlarged pupil and reduced vision can occur – we treat this with pressure-lowering medications and, if necessary, laser surgery.
